W.S. Norton
The Plastic Man, 2021
mixed media on paper
11 x 8.5 inches
W.S. Norton made this piece as part of a collaboration between Interact artists and authors at Cow Tipping Press. Norton's piece responds to Leah Hood's poem of the same name, and excerpts from Hood's text appear throughout the piece.
Image description: A large mouth is agape, with large, long teeth and part of the back of the tongue showing, with the poem written in white marker across the entire image. The lips appear slightly thin, and a deep maroon shade. The background has a textured fabric appearance, with shades of dark blue and grey.
