Jill Reedy at Grand Marais Art colony

Interact artist Jill Reedy develops new wet felting work at Grand Marais Art Colony residency

Interact artist Jill Reedy recently completed a weeklong residency at Grand Marais Art Colony with support from Interact studio facilitator Melissa Nyberg. Founded in 1947 on Lake Superior's North Shore, Grand Marais Art Colony fosters the exploratory growth and experimental power of contemporary artists. Reedy's residency is part of grant-funded initiative to increase accessibility for the Colony's residency program.

Reedy's fiber works are tender tributes to the natural world. Growing up on a hobby farm in a family of 12 children, Reedy connected with her father through their shared love of birds, and with her mother through creative projects. Her carefully felted sculptures, each an original composition, reflect the tranquility she feels in nature.
