Feeling and Knowing | Curated by Kristen Sanders at Interact Gallery

Interact is pleased to present Feeling and Knowing, an exhibition curated by Kristen Sanders at Interact Gallery.
Exhibition Dates | October 15, 2026 – January 14, 2027
Feeling and Knowing explores relationships: between artworks, between artists, and between what we perceive and what we imagine. Throughout the exhibition, the works of twenty-six Interact artists are arranged in smaller groups based on conversations that form between them.
In one arrangement, the palpable energy of Cal Nesbitt's color analysis (shown above) is juxtaposed against the quiet stillness of Devin Wildes' interior scene. In another, the expressive lines of Kaia Burg's marker drawing echo the chaotic, meandering threads of Bill Crane's tapestry. Other pairings highlight similarities in color, shape, gesture, and mark-making across pieces with wildly different moods and subject matter, creating serendipitous interactions that spark new interpretations of the work.
Feeling and Knowing is part of our guest curator program, which invites scholars and artists to organize exhibitions that incorporate work from Interact's ever-growing, 30-year archive.

GUEST CURATOR
Kristen Sanders is a visual artist based in St. Paul. Her work explores the ambiguous boundaries between consciousness and the body, self and the environment, life and death, and past and future. For the past decade, Sanders has worked primarily in painting, but she’s recently rediscovered her love for ceramics and is especially excited about the growing dialogue between these two practices. Originally from California, Sanders received a BA from the University of California Davis, and an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. She currently teaches in the Art Department at the University of Minnesota.
